a note from karina

I'm Karina Cruz, the founder of KCRUZER Movement and the instructor behind Suite 8.

Movement has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, but my relationship with it has changed a lot along the way.

I spent years as a competitive cheerleader and Division I athlete, where movement often meant performing — higher, stronger, sharper, more. After college, I earned my master’s degree, started my career at a consulting firm, and found myself needing movement for an entirely different reason. It became a way to reconnect with myself.

Eventually, that pull brought me to Pilates.

What started as something personal grew into the work I do today. Along the way, I studied Pilates, corrective exercise, strength training, yoga, mindfulness, and movement education. The more I learned, the less interested I became in fitting movement into one method, one aesthetic, or one definition of “fit.”

That’s ultimately why I created KCRUZER MOVEMENT.

I wanted to create the kind of space I believe movement deserves: personal, curious, adaptable, and grounded in the person in front of me.

Pilates is at the heart of what I teach, but I don’t believe your body needs to fit the method. The method should be able to meet you. Your history, your goals, your limitations, your sport, your lifestyle — all of it matters.

And I believe the basics deserve more credit. You don’t need a different exercise every thirty seconds for movement to be effective. Some of the best athletes, dancers, and movers in the world get good by returning to the fundamentals over and over again — with more awareness, more control, and more intention each time.

Suite 8 is an extension of all of that: a small space built for individual attention, thoughtful movement, experimentation, and a little room to do things differently.

Whether you’re stepping onto a reformer for the first time, working around an injury or limitation, training for something bigger, or an instructor finding your own voice, I hope you feel like there’s room for you here.

Welcome to KCRUZER MOVEMENT.
